Question:
I suffer from periodic double vision. This means that 99% of the time my eyes are fused and I see just fine. However, my doctor prescribed glasses with a prism to correct for the tendency of my eye to turn. When wearing these glasses, I get a terrible headache. When I take them off, I see double vision until I put them back on. This means that the glasses are forcing my eyes out of alignment and causing a dependency on them. Question: Do you think I should be wearing glasses with prism all of the time or only when I see double vision?
Age of the patient: 31 Years, Patient's gender: Male
More details about the presenting complaint:
I have had this issue my entire life.
Answer:
Your glasses should make you comfortable, not induce more headaches. Kindly get the power of glasses checked, so that it's appropriate as ordered, or get your eye power checked again.
Once the glasses are appropriate, it is recommended that you use it always.

Sir my eyes water has frozen at some places in my eyes and I see a black spot in my vision for more than one year. It could be a cure or not
Age of the patient: 20 Years, Patient's gender: Male
Answer:
A single black spot in your eye is known as a floater. It is a very common finding. It is due to degeneration o,f vitreous gel with age. It is not a disease and you should not worry about it. It might be irritating, but better ignore it. People have tried various treatments, but it will only increase with age.
You should urgently see a retina specialist if you notice a sudden shower of floaters. Just to rule out any break or detachment of the retina.

Age of the patient: 9 Years, Patient's gender: Female
Answer:
Visual recovery depends on a lot of parameters. Including the extent of the injury. What structures in the eye got damaged and how meticulously the repair was done. It will also depend on the behaviour of the eye in the postoperative period. Kindly upload your documents, we might be able to advise better after examining your reports.
It's hard to accept, but despite all the medical advances, we have not been able to restore a post-traumatic eye to a completely normal condition. The eye is an optical structure and once distorted, the light rays in the eye can never focus like before. So unfortunately past performance is never achieved.

I guess your work requires a lot of work on the computer screen. You might be suffering from computer vision syndrome. In this case, there is a deficiency in tear film due to less frequent blinking and stress of working on a screen. Another possibility is dryness or insufficient tear film production. It might be diagnosed with a Schirmer's test. Kindly get back to us with the results of the test.

Answer:
Your baby is suffering from damage to optic nerve resulting from trauma to head. The remaining potential in the optic nerve can be determined by a test called VER, visual evoked response in which light stimulus is provided and corresponding electrical response in the brain is measured. You can get back to us with the test results for further discussion.
Question:
The upper half of my right eye went blurry and grey. There was no pain, I didn't feel anything in my eye at all. I took a picture of it, there was nothing. It almost went away after 10 m ou minutes, I still see a little distortion in the upper part of my vision. Internet says possible detached retina. Can that fix itself? I just recently found out the VA is not covering my eyes so I have to wait for open enrollment to get insurance.

Are you suffering from any systemic disease like diabetes or hypertension? You will need a dilated examination of your retina. Retinal detachment, venous occlusion, vitreous haemorrhage are a few possibilities. Retinal detachment is unlikely to resolve on its own.

Uncontrollable eye movements, especially bad when passing people. I think its nystagmus, as my eyes will flicker left and right
Age of the patient: 18 Years, Patient's gender: Male
More details about the presenting complaint:
As I about my day, going out or just relaxing I start flickering my eyes. I get called a spaz and a creep. I just wanna be normal.
Previous history of the same issue:
It was minor in high school, wear if I'm walking down the hall and there's a person coming, I force my eyes to keep looking straight, but there's this uncontrollable flash of light and my eyes flickered. then I hear the yucks and disgusting from the people that passed me.
Answer:
What you have described are normal involuntary pursuit movements of the eyes in which our eyes track anything which moves in front of us.
You need not worry about it. If people around you feel uncomfortable, try to look just momentarily towards them, then shift your gaze to someone or something else. People feel uncomfortable when they have a feeling that someone is staring at them.
In the video you have sent, your eyes look fairly stable. Still, I would recommend, you consult a neuro-ophthalmologist just to be extra careful.
Question:
My son plays sports and 2 years ago was kicked in the eye while playing. I took him to the ER and he had inflammation behind the eye. His couldn't see for a few hours but his sight came back. Soon after scheduled an appt with an optometrist who specialized in vision therapy, and that is when he was diagnosed with colour blindness (see red as grey and yellow as white). However, fast forwarding to now he told me for a couple of months everything red is grey and yellow is white. I have an appt in 2 weeks to meet with an optom. to see if it's something that can be corrected. In your expertise, can you give me on some feedback whether it's possible to regain his sight the way it was before?
Answer:
Wanted to know if the trauma while playing was in both the eyes or just one eye?
Also is the colour blindness in just one eye or both?
Usually, colour blindness is genetic and you incidentally detected it while getting him examined.
Unfortunately, it is very unlikely to get reversed, but we can hope for the best.
