Question:
So I have been having an issue with my vision in my left eye. A couple months ago a relatively small blind spot appeared to the left of my vision in my left eye. I went to the doctors they took me I they scanned it with every device available and they said it was just a normal blind spot and your brain will ignore it. But it has persisted and even gotten worse. It has at least tripled in size and is making reading very challenging. I sketched a drawing of what it looks like the cross being the centre of my vision. The grey I can semi see through but the black I can't. The yellow is a yellow thing that will flash when I blink. And surrounding the black and grey spot my vision warps like a black hole. And when I blink the whole thing looks like a star into the sun. When I turned 18 recently my parent's healthcare ran out for me. And I work 40 hours a week. Zo going to the doctors unless it's really an emergency is not really an option.

To rule out if it is a normal or abnormal blind spot, better get the following test done.

This test charts your visual field.
You can get this test repeated at regular intervals like 6 months, or earlier if you feel the need. In this test, you will just need to press the button in response to a light stimulus while you are fixing on a target straight ahead.

Previous history of the same issue:
Retinal detachment 3 years ago
Current medications:
Accutane
Answer:
Be assured that this condition is not related to your retinal detachment. There is a duct which drains the tears in your eyes in your nose. Normally it's opening is closed by a valve. In your case on applying pressure, the valve might open allowing the air to come out from the eyes. So nothing to be worried about.
